ESTABLISHMENT & PURPOSE OF HDUG

  • To provide a common platform for discussion between hydrology data users and data provider.
  • To create awareness amongst users about Hydrological Information System (HIS) data and educate them.
  • To understand, analyse and update information on the changing needs of data users.
  • To review and recommend addition/deletion in the data collection networks related to HIS, if appropriate.

WHO  CAN BE MEMBER OF HDUG

The members of HDUG can be –

  • Government Institutions
  • Voluntary Non Government Organizations
  • Universities, Educational & Research Institutions
  • Associations – Farmers, Water users, Industrial
  • Individuals engaged in Operational Research & Development
  • All Professional Bodies
  • Consulting Representatives

Hydro geological data will be supplied to HDUG members

MEMBERSHIP

The registration for membership of the HDUG is open to all by paying Rs. 500/- as a membership fee.  Membership of HDUG is valid for a fixed duration of five years.  This may be renewed.  Lifetime membership fee is Rs. 2500/-.

DATA DISSEMINATION TO HDUG MEMBERS

Data will be made available online / offline through any available media such as Floppy, CD, Tape or hard copy against payment for the required data. Catalogue services are being launched on central NIC server, shortly and will be available on Internet.

Demand Draft of Rs.500/- in favour of the concerned District Senior Geologist / Regional Deputy Director or Director along with duly filled in Registration Form may be sent to the concerned Senior Geologist / Regional Deputy Director or Director.

APPEAL

Data users are welcome for various data requirement and use the facility made available at State Data Storage Center on large scale to improve the socio-economic development. 

DATA  DISSEMINATION POLICY REGARDING THE AVAILABLE DATA

a) Data request form– Data request format is finalised and enclosed (D1).

b) Data dissemination- Data regarding Observation well / Piezometer,

chemical analysis & Assessment should be disseminated only after

due scrutiny by the Directorate office.

    Groundwater as a policy the district data should be disseminated by district office at district level and data for more than one district within the same division should be disseminated by regional office. Similarly data required for more than one district covering different region will be given by Head Office. But flexibility to supply data, at any point of data, at any point of data dissemination ( DDPC/RDPC/DSC) as per the convenience of HDUG, has been taken.

b) Publicity– A wide publicity for type of data available will be given in local news papers, Govt. circulation and magazines, through publicity of this project should be made by using available Govt. machinery, meta-data to be published on NIC & GSDA Web-sites.

c) Independent chargeable web site should be introduced.

d) It should be made mandatory for other department to use GW data before constructing new Groundwater & Surface water structure.
